The ARGUS® F240 fibre tester scores with improved performance when testing mixed fibre connections. The high-quality measuring device is ideally equipped for the expansion of future networks.
With its robust and compact design, the ARGUS® F240 is optimally suited to the requirements of daily field use. The focus is on touchscreen operation with the familiar ARGUS® menu navigation.
The ARGUS® F240 tests reliably and in the usual quality on GPON, XGS-PON and AON interfaces. The selective 5-fold power meter can be looped into an existing PON link in through mode and thus enables the simultaneous exact determination of the optical levels on the different downstream (OLT) and upstream (ONT) wavelengths for GPON, XGS-PON and a video overlay via five separate filters. This makes it possible to detect any other transmitters (so-called alien ONT) that may be on the line. In addition, the PON ID can be read from the PLOAM message. The ARGUS® can perform a complete ONT simulation with IP and performance tests up to 2.5 Gbit/s (optional) on both the GPON and the XGS-PON.
The ARGUS® F240 also has many other test functions such as WLAN analyzers, triple play tests such as VoIP, IPTV and data tests in the form of upload/download, ping and traceroute as well as iperf or high-performance IP speed tests directly on the fibre or Ethernet. The SFP slot can be used, among other things, for the use of Active Ethernet (AON), as is often the case in FTTH installations. In addition, the Fibre Inspection Tool can be connected via USB, which detects scratches, dirt and defects on optical fibres and displays them as a video image and in tabular form.
Intec Gesellschaft für Informationstechnik mbH, Germany's innovation leader in the field of telecommunications measurement technology, will once again be presenting its ARGUS® brand multi-function testers at ANGA COM in Cologne, Europe's leading business platform for broadband and content providers. In addition to the ARGUS® 300, which has already won two awards, a new compact fibre tester, the ARGUS® F240, will be presented.
